Get Off to a Good Start!
It is pretty safe to say that we as a nation have more wealth than any other nation on the face of the earth. The question that begs to be asked, is why are we so poor then ? Allow me to give you a few financial tidbits at the start of this new year for you to think about as you contemplate taking control of your financial life. 1. Its not how much you make, its how much you spend.! I have taught financial classes, counseled many people and found this principal to be true in my own life. 2. The greatest financial maturity that a person can learn is to sacrifice short term gratification for long term fulfillment. What this means is that todays immediate pleasures can limit your future. 3. Debt is like an ice hill in that it easier to go down than it is to go up. Let this year be the year that you change your financial direction for the long term good. The start of the year is a good time to look back for lessons learned and to look forward to the opportunities and challenges that we face in the upcoming year. I would encourage you to lift up your eyes, set your chin, put your nose to the grindstone (and all of the other cliches) and determine that this year will be the year that you take control of your life. Take the time to sit down with your spouse and commit to each other that this year will be a year of financial success rather than a year of the same old question of "Where did all the money go?" Make this year the year of change in your financial .
