Since 1989 Paul & Linda have been buying their family cars from the General Service Administration (GSA), an agency of the US Government. Each year the Government buys a fleet of cars from the automakers and after three years they sell them at a public auction. This has been a great deal for us and I would ask you to consider it.

The cars are three years old, so therefore the big depreciation (price valuation drop) has happened, and the cars have been kept in excellent condition with your tax dollars. They fully detail them before they put the car up to auction so they look like new! Also one of the great things is that this is treated as a PRIVATE PARTY sale therefore you do not pay the high Illinois Retail Sales Tax but rather the Use Car Tax which is based on the year of the car, if the car is under $15,000.

The auctions are held monthly through the summer months. Please give me a call for more information. The website is www.autoauctions.gsa.gov

Our son Rob just graduated from U of I and is starting his new job in Iowa in June. Therefore he needed to buy his first car. Paul & Rob (and a few clients) went to the Bolingbrook Auction and bought a beautiful Chysler Sebring with only 27,000 miles on it. This should serve Rob for many years. One of our clients Jim and his son also bought a beautiful Chevy Impala. We also attended the next month (June) with a client and he also bought a car. He got a great deal on a 2007 Chevy Impala with about 28,000 miles on it.
